An acute illness is one that starts suddenly, but is short-lived.
What are some types of acute illnesses?
Some examples of acute illnesses may include the following:
- Cold
- Flu syndrome
- Strep throat
- Acute sinusitis
- Ear infection
- Bladder infection
- cervical and thoracic lumbar sprain/strain
What causes an acute illness?
Viruses cause some acute illnesses.
What is the treatment for an acute illness?
Generally an acute illness will go away on its own. However, the patient may need some form of antibiotic or medical treatment.
The staff at FPA will make every effort possible to see an established patient in 24-48 hours for the examination and treatment of an acute illness.
