Men's Health Services

iFPA doctors also provide men's health care. This may be an annual visit focusing on a man's health needs.

Who needs a men's health screenings?
All men at some point need to be screened for issues relating to men. Generally, your age will determine when these screenings start.

What should I expect during this visit?
At your appointment, your age, height, weight, and blood pressure will be taken. You will also discuss any medications you are currently taking. The doctor may perform a digital rectal exam to check your prostate for any abnormalities which may lead to prostate cancer. The doctor may also do a testicular exam to check for any abnormalities which may lead to testicular cancer. You may also need lab work to check your PSA level, besides other things. You may also discuss with your doctor any issues that are male specific, such as erectile dysfunction. You can also receive information regarding family planning. If you are having issues related to men's health that need more specific attention, your doctor may refer you to a specialist such as a Urologist.

Follow-up with your doctor to go over any test results to see if further action needs to be taken.
