Osteopathic Manipulation Therapy, or OMT, is when the doctor uses their hands by moving your muscles and joints, to treat or diagnose a condition or injury.

OMT can be beneficial for just about everyone. It can be helpful with certain conditions such as scoliosis, migraines, menstrual pain, asthma, carpal tunnel syndrome, and sinus disorders. OMT helps to promote increased mobility, healing, and eases pain. It can also be very relaxing for some!
What should I expect during OMT?
There is no special preparation for this kind of therapy. The doctor may position you on a table corresponding to what area needs work on. You may be sitting up or lying down. It generally does not take very long. This kind of therapy can often replace or compliment drug therapy or surgery.
